Synchronicity

Posted on Updated on

The Oxford dictionary defines that sophisticated word as: “The simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.”

I call it the Universe cooperating to make good things happen.

A few days ago, I decided to use the free car wash coupon my vehicle’s dealership gave me when we had our last oil change. This coupon is redeemed at the drive through Brown Bear system that you use to get as much muck off the vehicle as possible in an automated fashion. Rarely is there a person I can talk to after flashing my coupon or using my credit card on the system’s entry gates portal but the other day there were 2 people poised at the car wash’s entrance. I was pleased to have the opportunity to leave a tip with the person who was “personing” the gate, so I handed her some money. Her response?

”Oh my gosh, how did you know I was going to treat the crew to Starbucks? That was so kind of you!” I told her I didn’t know that was the case but I was so happy that the timing of my arrival tied in with her Starbucks errand.

Turns out, the person just before me had done the same thing (or perhaps more than one person) so having a few money giftings in a row was not only opportune but synchronistic, wouldn’t you say? I guess when the Universe nudges us in a different direction than we originally intended, perhaps good things can come about to improve on the state of our little corner of the world. I know my presence in my little corner of the world was lightened and brightened as a result.

I sure do love when that happens.

What a fun story. You are out there offering kindness and it reflects back on you.

It takes so little. Her joy gave me a much needed bit of overflowing joy.
